Chapter 24 Overview
In this chapter students will discover the groups who moved west following the Civil War, their reasons for moving and the impacts of these groups on western lands and the peoples who were already living there. Each student will be assigned one of the major groups driving this settlement, they will then need to create a poster describing the group, its motives, challenges and its major impacts on the west. Class discussions will center around affects of this settlement on Native American groups.
