What's Happening in Class?
3/17/2020 update
Hello,
I hope that everyone is well. I'm writing this at 8:30 am on Tuesday 3/17/2020. Yesterday afternoon staff and students received word that the Utica Schools will be using the Schoology platform for distance learning through out the shut down. I am new to this platform and will be using today and tomorrow to familiarize myself with it. The district will be sending out information to all students about how to access and use the Schoology platform. You can expect to start accessing our course information on Schoology by the end of this week, or Monday at the very latest. My plan is to continue the same schedule with the materials on the Schoology platform that is outlined below.
In the mean time, I would recommend that you work with your family to establish a routine that works for you during this time. My family and I have scheduled time for school work, reading, exercise, chores and free time. It is my hope that this routine will keep us all from getting board and frustrated with our extended time together. Remember to take care of yourself: eat right, exercise, get enough sleep and wash your hands often.
Please reach out over email and via schoology once we are up and running if you have any questions.
Stay Healthy!

3/13/2020 original plan.
Hello,
I'm writing this at 10 am 3/13/2020. I learned late last night with all of you that schools will be closed for the next 4 weeks. At this time the district is still making plans for what that will mean for student instruction. I was already prepared with plans for classroom activities for the next couple of weeks. I have sent that work home with students today and modified the activities for independent work. As the district provides more directions for teachers and students there may be some modifications to this plan, but the resources I am providing today will be the basis for most work in the coming weeks. These are unprecedented times so please check your district email, this website, and your parents email for any updates going forward.
Monday 3/16: Complete the Ch 19 assessment that was sent home today
Tuesday 3/17: complete the ch 20 preview and the 20.1 questions in the packet
Weds 3/18: 20.2 in text with packet questions
Thursday 3/19: 20.3 in textbook and packet questions (pay attention to the graphs)
Friday 3/20: 20.4 in textbook, slide 1 of power point and packet questions
Monday: 20.5 in textbook, slide 2 of power point and packet questions
Tuesday: 20.6 in textbook, slide 3 of power point and packet questions
Weds: 20.7 in textbook slide 4 of power point and packet questions
Thursday 20.8 in textbook, slide 5 of the power point and packet questions
